Note: The number of service days does not include order processing time, and only applies to items shipping from our facility. Items with particularily longer shipping times will be noted in the items listing.
On orders of $49.00 or more in the 48 continental states receive free shipping. If you select Free Standard Shipping, we are unable to offer you the ability to choose the carrier by which your order will be shipped. However, the carriers we use are FedEx Home, UPS and the United States Postal Service. The carrier we choose depends upon your destination and the items in your order.
Rural Route Box Deliveries: Because the option to ship to PO Boxes is disabled, you cannot enter the word BOX into the Ship To Form. Please enter BOX as BX and the form will go through. Sorry for the inconvenience. If you have questions contact us at 312-492-9673 for more details
Wrong Addresses and Redirected Shipments: If you enter the incorrect address and your package is returned to us you are liable for that charge. If you wish the package to be re-delivered to the corrected address you will be charged for any change of address fee we inccur as well. Please check your address entry carefully before completing orders. Please do not mix PO Box and street adresses in the same check out form. Gated Communities or Unusual Addresses: If you live in a non attended gated community where the delivery person cannot deliver we are not responsible for the cost of the shipping to a locked unmanned gate and back to our shipping facility. Please provide a street address for the delivery or call 312-492-9673 for more details.
DAMAGED SHIPMENTS: If your package arrives visibly damaged, refuse it and contact us immediately at 312-492-9673 (Chicago local) 877-287-0810 Toll Free (Chicago Suburban & Out of State) or email [email protected].
If you sign for a package or cage and do not report any visible damage to the driver we cannot file a claim with the shipping company for the damage and cannot be liable for the replacement or return of the products. Minor damage to a shipment can be saved so please contact us immediately for further assistance. All damages and losses must be reported to us within 3 business days of the date delivered by the shipper. Please check tracking sent for your order and if after the date the package is due to arrive and is marked delivered and you do not have it, call us immediately at 877-287-0810.
Inspect ALL shipments promptly. When received open and examine it immediately for damage or incorrect or missing items. UPS/FEDEX damage and loss claims must be made within 15 days or they will be unable to assist. All purchases are final 30 days from the date you received the product regardless if you have not opened your shipments. Inspect ALL shipments promptly. RETURNS: Before returning product, please contact us at [email protected] for a return authorization and the correct return address. Restocking charges are 10%*. Customer is responsible for return shipping charges. Items must be returned in original packaging and care must be taken to return items in decent shape. Outbound shipping charges will also be deducted from all refunds Unless defective and cannot be corrected.. *NOTE: Items shipped back to us without notification will be subject to a 20% restocking charge.
RETURN EXCEPTIONS: To keep from spreading disease to your birds we will not accept cut rope, fabric items for returns (pet bedding or rope perches), nor items that have been exposed to birds (dirty or used) are accepted for return or exchange and if received in such condition we will not return items to customer without an additional shipping charge and the refund is void and the product discarded.
Light bulbs, and electronics may not be returned to us. If you receive a defective product, we or the manufacturer will replace it. Call for details. If the product is not replaceable, we will issue a full refund including shipping charges. Please be aware that monitors and operating systems show colors differently. Please call about colors prior to ordering if you are uncertain.
Upon receipt of the returned merchandise, we will issue a credit to your credit card or Paypal account within 30 days. If you paid with a check or money order we will issue a check within 30 days as well.
Continental United States – Standard Shipping:
Orders with a sum of less than $49.00 are given shipping choices. Typical transit times for FedEx ground is three to five business days, check below for transit time map. Customers may choose USPS Priority Mail and FedEx Home Delivery. Your shipping rate will be calculated based on your orders weight and the delivery location.

Alaska & Hawaii & Puerto Rico & Other US Territories: Alaskan, Hawaiian and Puerto Rican customers will be given the shipment options for either United States Postal Service’s Priority Mail and FedEx Ground Home Delivery. Please be aware that some USPS shipping options may take considerably longer to reach their destination due to geographical limitations and an ocean. We have a maximum weight of seventy pounds for all USPS shipments. We reserve the right to refuse to ship items that are especially fragile to locations that we feel will not reach the destination intact.
Canada & Mexico: Canadian and Mexican customers will be offered USPS International and some FedEx options. Transit time does not include time with customs. Customers will be responsible for all broker fees, duties and taxes, no exceptions. Unpaid Duties charged back to us by customs will be charged to customers credit card without notice. We have a maximum weight of seventy pounds for all USPS shipments. We reserve the right to refuse to ship items that are especially fragile to locations that we feel will not reach the destination intact.
All Other International Countries: We ship many countries via either United States Postal Service or FedEx International shipping options. You will be able to choose the carrier method which will determine time in transit (i.e. Express is faster than Economy). Transit time does not include time with customs. Customers will be responsible for all brokerage fees, duties and taxes, no exceptions. Unpaid Duties charged back to us by customs will be charged to customers credit card without notice. Packages not accepted are considered abandoned. The USPS maximum single box weight of seventy pounds may vary from country to country. You will be contacted by us if your order requires any special handling. We reserve the right to refuse to ship items that are especially fragile to locations that we feel will not reach the destination intact.
Some countries have a limit as to the insurance allowed on a shipment. If lost or damaged we can only refund the amount up to the maximum cost of the countries limitation.

Out of Stock/Backordered Items:
We try to keep all items on our site available to our customers at all times but with such a large selection of items for your birds there is always a possibility that we may run out of something. But in the event that we are unknowingly out of stock for a particular item we will contact you after your order is placed and determine a solution to best suit your needs. Orders will be delayed if an out of stock item is soon to return to stock. If the delay will knowingly be longer than 5 days the order will be shipped without the unavailable item(s) and refunded. Orders with food will be put ahead of orders without.
Due to the increasingly high costs of shipping these days, we reserve the right to cancel and refund for back ordered items that would cause us to incur additional shipping charges that would be more costly than the item being sent out. We will contact each customer before shipping an incomplete order to see if another item can be substituted. If the customer does not respond to our emails or phone calls we may ship the order without the back ordered items after 3-5 days as to not delay the order any longer and refund accordingly.
Drop Shipped Items: Many of the items on our website will be shipped from the manufacturer or other distribution centers. This may or may not add additional time to your shipment. Cage Manufacturer ship times: Prevue ships approx: 2-4 business days upon receipt of order, HQ ships within 1-3 business days, AE ships within 1-5 business days, Very Large Cages and Aviaries ship within 3-14 days. Exceptions can occur and we will contact you upon receipt of any information that might delay your order beyond normal expectations.
Small cages will be delivered to your door via FEDEX or UPS. Large cages and aviaries will be delivered via truck/freight and may be curb side service only. You will be responsible for getting the cage into your home yourself unless you contract with the driver or trucking firm for additional shipping services. Please discuss this with your delivery person when they call to make the appointment to deliver your large cage or aviary.
Holidays and Shipping Times:
Order Priorities: ALL orders are important, however orders with bird food items are considered of the most importance and will be the first orders filled for the day. Your birds MUST be fed and we know this. If we are out of an item we will contact you about it and if possible, offer you an alternative.
